Exciting New Projects Underway for Housing Stability and Community Resources

The Housing Stability working group is exploring a promising new partnership with Mary Baldwin University students to develop an Eviction Guide tailored to each locality in our region. This guide, still in its early stages, aims to demystify the eviction process by outlining timelines, procedures, and practical tips—such as where to park, what to wear, and how to be prepared. The group dedicated its entire meeting to this topic, choosing to stay united rather than splitting into smaller subcommittees.

In other exciting news, the Essential Community Resource Guide continues to gain traction! The Augusta County Library recently spoke about the guide in an interview with WHSV (aired Monday), and a new decision tree tool is in the works. This feature will allow users to answer a few questions and receive a personalized list of helpful resources.

Site traffic has steadily grown—with 48 views by 41 visitors just last week, and a total of 221 views by 199 visitors since launch. Google continues to be the top referral source.

Thanks to funding from the Staunton Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the library will also begin designing business cards to help spread the word and put the guide in more hands.
