The SAW Housing Stock Working Group met today to discuss the regional housing study and separated into subcommittees to identify actionable steps for the next six months.
Behind the scenes, research is already underway on several Land Banks serving communities with demographics very similar to SAW. The establishment of a Land Bank is one of the recommendations contained in the regional housing study. We intend to share the results of our research with the staff of our municipalities and, together, identify the best option for the creation of a SAW Land Bank. Additionally, working group members will be dividing up the task of researching well over one hundred regional Housing Trust Funds across the country. We'll be looking at their sources of funding, their goals and how they utilize their funds, among other things.
